oh what a day.


lunching (well more like snacking) with nigel was an experience surely. he seemed very knowledgeable yet so humble. very soft-spoken, and sounded pretty father-ly to me. very eager in hearing what we had to say, regarding the course, the school, the industry as a whole. his agenda was to get us to tell him what we felt could be done to attract the best heads into the industry and what could be improved.. hmmkays. i dont think i met that pre-requisite of being the "best" though. that kinda got me to thinking. i personally feel, to be successful, in whatever it is that you do, all you need to have is interest. interest in learning and getting to know the profession, the scope of work, as well as the skills revolving around the profession. it may take some time for some people to realise or build the interest, or it may be in some naturally, but as long as its there, everything else will come sailing through. so its not so much for being very smart, or very analytical, or very this or very that. just as long as you keep having the will to learn, you WILL get up there. at least that's how i feel la. nonsensical? perhaps. lol.

oh typical ems, i got him to sign my modern actuarial theory book. he's not even the author, silly ke? whatever. hihi. and of course, ben signed it too. now im left with getting booth and plumb to leave theirs.

and my term one results came out today. i passed all four alhamdulillah. didn't even know 50 was the passing mark, isk isk. but the colours didn't fly as high for me this time :( disheartened indeed. still taking my time to let the results sink in properly.. well i guess i deserved it. padmukengk. how to get distinction la like this? hampeh.

though i admit, that left me high-spirited in excelling this term. i will start early, and will study for MORE than 4 days (the longer the better) for every subject, insyaAllah. now that i really want it, i think i WILL kick ass this term. insyaAllah. Allah seeks only for my utmost effort. with that covered, insyaAllah my prayers will be answered. amin.
