When it comes to the future, there are three kinds of people: those who let it happen, those who make it happen, and those who wonder what happened.

after almost two weeks of planning, sherrina and i finally met up for lunch at satay house today, with farr :)) after that, we spent another hour or so at azril's for more chats.

it was such a great afternoon; the food, THE iced milo, the company, and definitely the conversations we had.

talking to sherrina was inspiring and fulfilling at the same time. within those short hours, she managed to squeeze in a LOT of useful insights on how job applications work in this country, in the financial sector in particular. she gave us tips on writing our CVs, things to ask during an interview, what interviewers expect from interviewees, as well as current issues and gossips within lehman-ites. listening to her career development in investment banking has left me in awe of her :) unfortunately with nomura not being interested in her fixed income department has made her department redundant to the "new" company, but thankfully she'll be starting with hsbc next week. so all the best sherrina!! and thank you for your time today. :)

i should probably start working on my cv ASAP now that i have at least one very experienced person in london who is willing to spend some time looking through it and giving constructive comments.

step it up ems!

im still so grateful for the lunch outing today.

p/s: really wished you were here melly.
